Welcome to the Soroptimist International of Harrisburg, PA club website.  We are planning our 2023-2024 projects now.  “Together in Unity”

SI Harrisburg was recognized for 85 years of service to women and girls at the North Atlantic Region’s Spring Conference on April 23.

Last club year,  in October, we collected products for Shalom House and enjoyed listening to Roshun Mitchell from Shalom House, telling about their services to local women and children.  And we had a great time making Snowman ornaments to be given to the children at Shalom House.  November we heard from The Healthy Steps Diaper Bank and collected diapers to be shared with clients of the Diaper Bank.  We provided pantry staples to The Cupboard at Calvary in January and held a cash collection for The Beacon Clinic’s Period Poverty Project in February.  In March, dental care supplies for a local food bank and children’s books for the NAR service project were collected.  April we collected Period Poverty Products for the Healthy Steps Diaper Bank to distribute to their clients.  In May we collected items for The Salvation Army’s Summer Camps.  Our final collections in June were  for the YWCA’s Women’s Shelter.

We are part of Soroptimist International, a worldwide organization of women interested in helping other women.  Soroptimists are dedicated to working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women.  As a  global organization, Soroptimists reach out to less fortunate women and girls allowing them and empowering them to reach their goals and dreams.  Worldwide Soroptimists help women through service and financial support at the local, region, national and international levels.

Soroptimist are truly focused on ensuring that women and girls acquire the skills to reach their individual potential in an environment free from domestic violence.

The club members invite you to visit us at one of our monthly meetings or at fundraising events.

We welcome your interest on how we make a difference for women in our community
